El peleador mexicano estadounidense Anthony Ruiz Jr. superó esta el sábado pasado por nocáut en el séptimo asalto al británico Anthony Joshua y le arrebató los tres cinturones de peso pesado avalados por la Federación Internacional de Boxeo (FIB), la Asociación (AMB) y la Organización (OMB).
La victoria de Andy Ruiz dejó sorprendidos a propios y extraños, entre ellos, al mítico actor Sylvester Stallone, quien es recordado por su papel de Rocky Balboa.
En su cuenta de Instagram, el también productor compartió un video de la victoria de Ruiz sobre el británico Anthony Joshua en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York.
En el texto de la publicación, Stallone llamó a Andy Ruiz “El Rocky Mexicano”, tras la hazaña en la que se convirtió en el primer tricolor en ser campeón de Peso Completo en la historia.
La brutal pelea entre Ruiz Jr. y Joshua, que ya se puede equiparar a las que dejaron las grandes sorpresas en el mundo del boxeo dentro de los pesos pesados como las que protagonizaron Buster Douglas al dejar nocáut al legendario Mike Tyson y Hasim Rahman ante Lennox Lewis, fue todo un éxito para el mundo del deporte del boxeo.
Hacía mucho tiempo que no se veía tanta acción, tantos golpes y un vencedor inesperado del aspirante que llegó a la pelea abajo 11-1 en las apuestas de Las Vegas.
