ASUNCIÓN — La Confederación Sudamericana de Futbol (Conmebol) lanzó este lunes una campaña de comunicación para concienciar a la ciudadanía sobre la necesidad de erradicar la violencia de los estadios, un día antes de que arranquen los partidos de ida de las semifinales de la Copa Libertadores.
Bajo el lema «El futbol es un juego, la violencia no», el máximo organismo del balompié sudamericano se ha dirigido a todos los colectivos sociales en las redes sociales y los medios de comunicación para que «la violencia no empañe el brillo del mejor futbol continental».
La campaña está compuesta por unos montajes fotográficos que reúnen en una analogía las escenas habituales de un partido de futbol con situaciones de violencia que impiden a los aficionados disfrutar del espectáculo.
De esta forma, aparece un jugador de futbol que trata de superar en un disparo de falta una barrera de agentes antidisturbios o un hincha que anima a su equipo, junto a un ultra que trata de lanzar una piedra en un altercado.
La Conmebol ha querido reforzar con esta campaña su compromiso para erradicar cualquier forma de violencia, así como hacer un llamamiento a clubes, federaciones, medios de comunicación e hinchadas para que estén «alineados para hacer de este proyecto una causa común», según explicaron en un comunicado difundido este lunes.
El organismo persigue como meta final «conseguir que el futbol transmita siempre los valores de deportividad, compañerismo y superación allá donde haya una pelota».
El lanzamiento de la campaña se ha producido un día antes de que arranquen las semifinales de la Copa Libertadores en las que se enfrentarán por un lado los argentinos River Plate y Boca Juniors, y por el otro los brasileños Gremio y Flamengo.
Precisamente, los dos conjuntos argentinos fueron protagonistas de los enfrentamientos violentos en las inmediaciones del estadio Monumental de Buenos Aires que obligaron a la organización a trasladar el año pasado la final al estadio Santiago Bernabéu de Madrid.
