SEATTLE, 13 de agosto (ESPN).- El quarterback de los Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson, dio a conocer por medio de su cuenta de Twitter que será nuevo co-propietario del equipo de fútbol de la MLS Seattle Sounders. El jugador de fútbol americano ahora es parte de los inversionistas del equipo junto a su esposa, la cantante Ciara. Esto, luego de que el propietario principal del equipo y quien ayudó a llevar la MLS a Seattle, Joe Roth, pusiera en venta sus acciones.

La franquicia de la Major League Soccer no especificó el porcentaje del que Wilson y su esposa son dueños, aunque esto era algo que se veía venir, pues el deportista había estado buscando esta posibilidad desde tiempo atrás, ya que anteriormente fue socio en el proyecto para construir una nueva cancha de básquetbol en Seattle y también es parte del proyecto de Portland, Oregon para construir un estadio de béisbol y llevar a la MLB a la ciudad.
