TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (ESPN).- El presidente de Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, condenó el ataque perpetrado al autobús del Motagua el sábado, donde fallecieron cuatro personas, y varias resultaron heridas, entre ellas tres jugadores de este equipo.
El gobernante indicó en un comunicado que este acto de violencia, en el que cuatro personas murieron, «no va a quedar impune».
Señaló que ha ordenado a las fuerzas de seguridad «capturar a los actores de estas muertes y agresiones que han llenado de dolor y luto a toda la nación y al mundo deportivo».
El autobús de Motagua fue atacado el sábado supuestamente por hinchas de Olimpia antes del clásico capitalino entre los dos equipos, lo que dio paso a una batalla campal fuera del Estadio Nacional de Tegucigalpa.
Hernández expresó a líderes del fútbol y a medios de comunicación, que estos «actos reprochables no tienen espacio en la convivencia ciudadana, menos en eventos deportivos. Todos debemos hacer nuestra parte. Honduras debe sacar a terroristas del fútbol», subrayó.
El defensa paraguayo Roberto Moreira, el portero argentino Jonathan Rougier y el lateral hondureño Emilio Izaguirre, todos del Motagua, resultaron heridos en el ataque, y cuatro personas murieron tras el enfrentamiento entre hinchas.
El presidente hondureño dijo que esa violencia en los estadios debe terminar ya. «Es reprochable la perversidad de aquellos que incitan al odio y la violencia como instrumento político para sus propios intereses», enfatizó.
Destacó que ha instruido a las fuerzas de seguridad para que trabajen «sin descanso para capturar a los responsables, investigar las diferentes conexiones y cambiar radicalmente el manejo de estos eventos».
Hernández resaltó que los estadios deben «ser espacios de sana convivencia entre gente civilizada, en familia, entre amigos».
La Policía hondureña anunció este domingo una recompensa de 350,000 lempiras, unos 14,300 dólares, a quien proporcione información que posibilite la detención de los responsables de las muertes.
