El delantero chileno de 26 años, Nicolás Castillo, ha dejado malas sensaciones con el Club América y su agente le busca destino en la Major League Soccer

Durante el Clausura 2019, el fichaje de Nicolás Castillo fue el más polémico y llegó a enfundarse la camiseta de las Águilas del América, lo hizo procedente de Europa pero luego de haber sido referente de los Pumas de la UNAM. Luego de un año en Coapa el equipo azulcrema, la directiva y la afición ya no quieren al chileno en el nido. Gracias a esto, su representante ofreció al atacante a la MLS.

Desde hace varios días, según información del periodista de ESPN, Rafael Ramos, el delantero de 26 años tiene un pie y medio fuera del Nido, ya que su representante lo ha ofrecido a varios clubes en Estados Unidos y Canadá. En el reporte no reveló cuales eran las franquicias que están en el radar.

Sin embargo, el diario AS indica que en caso de realizarse la transacción al futbol de Estados Unidos, llegaría como jugador franquicia, ya que cuenta con un alto sueldo, mismo que ronda los 5 millones de dólares por temporada, además que la venta sería de un nivel altísimo, es decir que rondaría los 10 millones de dólares, precio al que lo compró América.

La misma fuente apunta a que gracias a su alto costo, son pocos los equipos que podría hacerse con los servicios del ariete chileno, siendo el LA Galaxy e Inter Miami los principales candidatos para hacerse con los servicios del ex futbolista de los Pumas de la UNAM. El ariete andino disputó 9 duelos entre Liga MX y liguilla, logrando anotar 4 goles, pero en la final falló un penal decisivo ante Rayados de Monterrey que significó un gran malestar en los aficionados azulcremas.

Castillo ha disputado 26 partidos con el Club América entre Liga MX, Copa MX, Campeones Cup, Leagues Cup y Campeón de Campeones; donde colaboró con nueve goles y tres asistencias, números que no avalan la fuerte inversión que pagaron para llevarlo de vuelta a la Liga MX procedente del Benfica de Portugal.
