El atacante mexicano Javier Hernández pidió dar vuelta a la hoja tras la ilusión causada por el Tricolor en la Copa del Mundo Rusia 2018, donde fue eliminado en Octavos de Final a manos de Brasil.

«Enfrentamos a Brasil, a una de las mejores selecciones del mundo y no pudimos ganarle. Es parte del futbol. Nos fuimos contentos pero, obviamente, no satisfechos porque teníamos la ilusión, las ganas y la certeza de que podíamos llegar más lejos. No se pudo y hay que darle vuelta a la hoja», mencionó.

El jalisciense reconoció que con el hecho de vencer a Alemania en el primer partido de Rusia 2018 «el equipo generó mucha expectativa, mucha ilusión, mucha esperanza también, y con eso fue con lo que nos quedamos».

Y a pesar de que una vez más México se quedó sin la posibilidad de disputar el quinto partido en Cuartos de Final, para Javier Hernández la participación del Tricolor fue de manera aceptable en un sector en el que quedaron por encima del otrora campeón del mundo Alemania.

«Muy buena, yo creo que fue muy positiva. Lo que se generó hasta en el mismo Mundial, muchísimos de mis compañeros me comentaron que en sus países les hubiera gustado que México llegara más lejos, por cómo se dio todo en la fase de grupos, que le ganamos a Alemania, que pasamos Suecia y nosotros en un grupo donde nadie pensaba que Alemania iba a quedar fuera».

Hernández Balcázar ya se prepara con miras a una nueva campaña con los Hammers, donde busca afianzarse como un elemento importante en el esquema del técnico chileno Manuel Pellegrini, indicó para el West Ham en su portal en internet.

«Estoy aquí muy feliz, disfruté mis vacaciones con mi familia, mis seres queridos y mis amigos, así que muy motivado para la temporada que viene», declaró.
