Con mucho drama, Morelia vino de atrás y derrotó 2-1 a León en el partido de vuelta de los Cuartos de Final, para avanzar 5-4 en el marcador global y así clasificarse a las Semifinales del Apertura 2019.

El conjunto michoacano se confirmó como el caballo negro de la Liguilla, donde entró como séptimo lugar. Morelia se plantó con personalidad en el Nou Camp y tumbó al sublíder del torneo, que nuevamente terminó frustrado pese a realizar un gran semestre.

Al duelo le sobraron emociones y polémica, ya que en los instantes finales del encuentro el silbante Marco Antonio Ortiz Nava le anuló un gol a los locales por falta previa al cabezazo de Ángel Mena que le daba la clasificación a León, al minuto 98.

El partido fue trepidante en la segunda mitad, pues en el primer tiempo careció de llegadas de peligro por ambos costados. Ya en el complemento, La Fiera se fue arriba en el marcador con un tanto de Ismael Sosa, quien sorprendió al 52′ con un disparo a primer poste y que tomó mal parado al arquero Sebastián Sosa, para el 1-0 de los locales.

Morelia no renunció al ataque y contuvo a los esmeraldas. Ya en el 66′, Miguel Sansores empató el partido con un buen cabezazo a segundo poste.

Cuando muchos esperaban la sorpresa de León, Edison Flores, quien marcó un golazo en la ida, repitió la postal y con un gran disparo puso en ventaja a Morelia en el 71′.

El encuentro fue de ida y vuelta tras ese tanto, Morelia prefirió atacar que defender y casi lo paga caro. La afición esmeralda mostró frustración y dos veces tiró el grito de «Ehhh puto» provocando la suspensión del encuentro tras el segundo canto.

Esa pausa obligó a que Ortiz Nava agregara 7 minutos al partido, lapso donde el silbante le anuló el tanto de la clasificación a Ángel Mena por falta, además de un tiro de José Juan Macías al travesaño.

Con este resultado, el 5-4 global, Morelia se metió a las Semifinales del Apertura 2019, a la espera de confirmar rival.
