El entrenador de la Selección Mexicana Sub 23, Jaime Lozano, dijo que no armó la lista del Preolímpico pensando en perjudicar a alguien y agradeció a Chivas el apoyo para el torneo.
«Lo vemos con los equipos grandes: Cruz Azul, América, Chivas y Pumas, se juega distinto ante estos rivales. No hice una lista pensando en perjudicar, se hicieron contrataciones de Chivas que eran jugadores que teníamos ya en este proceso y le toca al Guadalajara ser, como en su momento ha sido Pachuca u otros clubes», declaró.
Chivas aportará hasta seis jugadores al Preolímpico, incluyendo a su goleador J.J. Macías.
«Agradecer al (Luis Fernando) ‘Flaco’ Tena porque él vivió este proceso y cada que platicamos con él me muestra su apoyo. En los micro ciclos también hizo ese apoyo reflejado y obviamente a Peláez también. Creo que es lo más justo para un equipo que da tantos jugadores a Selección, sería lo mas justo que pudieran disputar ese partido en otra fecha», indicó Lozano.
«Chivas en este nuevo proyecto compró muchos jugadores del proceso. Es complicado para nosotros pedirlos y para ellos cederlos, es comprensible. Pero siempre será un orgullo aportar a Selección y eso debe sentir Guadalajara, por algo los compró y por algo la mayoría está rindiendo frutos en este equipo».
Aunque no fueron considerados para el Preolímpico de Guadalajara, las puertas para los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020 no están cerradas para Diego Lainez y Edson Álvarez, dijo el DT del Tri Sub 23, Jaime Lozano.
«Traer jugadores que tienen talento, pero han estado parados tanto tiempo y que han trabajado poco con nosotros, me hizo tomar la decisión de no tenerlo en esta lista. Esto no quiere decir que si ganamos el boleto no pueda estar en Juegos Olímpicos, claro que sí. Ojalá pueda ganar minutos en su equipo, pero fue por eso. El tema de Edson, se ha ganado un puesto en la mayor. Con Diego hablaron hace mes y medio. Todo iba bien y pasó esto (su apendicitis)», expresó.
