EDINBURG, Texas (sábado 8 de febrero de 2020) – El Houston Dynamo cerró su road trip de dos juegos al sur de Texas con una victoria por 5-0 sobre Rio Grande Valley FC en el parque H-E-B esta noche.

El partido se jugó en cuatro períodos de 30 minutos y el Dynamo tomó la delantera después de que el defensor Adam Lundkvist encontró al centrocampista Tomás Martínez en el corazón del área para el primer gol del juego en el minuto 15.

El Dynamo duplicó su ventaja en el segundo período cuando el defensor Maynor Figueroa le quitó el balón a un defensor de RGV y encontró al delantero Mauro Manotas en el poste cercano. Manotas venció la presión del balón al deslizarse en el poste cercano a los 37 minutos para su primer gol de la pretemporada.

El delantero Michael Salazar marcó el tercer gol del juego de Houston en el tercer minuto del cuarto período. El internacional de Belice dribló hacia el poste cercano y venció al portero del RGV FC con un tiro apretado en la esquina inferior.

Salazar terminó con un par de minutos antes del pitido final después de que se coló detrás de la línea de fondo RGV FC y venció al portero en el poste cercano. El mediocampista Tommy McNamara marcó el gol final de la noche desde el punto de penalti después de que un defensor de Toros cometió una falta al delantero Juan Obregón dentro del área.

El delantero Christian Ramirez estaba a centímetros de su primer gol de la pretemporada, pero perdió un centro del delantero Niko Hansen en el poste lejano a los 83 minutos.

Tres jugadores de la Academia Dynamo y un alumno se unieron al juego en el período final cuando Juan Castilla y Danny Rios se unieron a los Toros y Josh Hallenberger jugó para el Dynamo. Christian Lucatero se preparó para RGV para el período final de la noche.

El Dynamo regresará al Houston Sports Park el martes mientras se preparan para su viaje final de la pretemporada a finales de este mes en Tucson, Arizona.
