En un momento en que la Federación Mexicana de Futbol lucha por erradicar los gritos discriminatorios del futbol mexicano, el técnico del América, Miguel Herrera, utilizó la palabra ‘pu…’ en un exabrupto en contra del árbitro que dirigió el clásico entre las Águilas y Cruz Azul, por lo que podría recibir alrededor de seis partidos, algo que nunca ha sufrido en su carrera.

En el Clausura 2017, cuando dirigía a Xolos de Tijuana, la Comisión Disciplinaria le dio cinco juegos de suspensión, tras recibir la tarjeta roja, discutir, reclamar y hasta insultar a aficionados en el Estadio Caliente, en un juego celebrado ante Santos en la fecha 11. Cabe mencionar que la directiva apeló el castigo y consiguió la reducción a uno.

Esa experiencia no fue suficiente enseñanza para Herrera, quien el sábado fue expulsado y no conforme cuando se iba del inmueble perdió la cabeza e insultó al árbitro Marco Antonio Ortiz Nava.

Cuando caminaba por el túnel hacia la salida del Azteca y los medios de información le solicitaban una opinión sobre el 5-2 en contra, el ‘Piojo’ respondió que mejor le preguntaran «al ‘pu…’ que viene atrás»; la persona que señaló era el silbante mencionado que le seguía metros atrás.

De acuerdo al reglamento, en su apartado ‘racismo y discriminación’, el estratega recibiría por lo menos cinco juegos de castigo por la ofensa al silbante que estuvo al cargo del encuentro de la fecha 13 del Apertura 2019, en la cancha del sábado, más uno por ser expulsado. Además, la Comisión Disciplinaria puede prohibirle la entrada al inmueble y e imponerle una multa económica.

En su trayectoria como entrenador, Herrera se ha ganado 34 expulsiones (dos de ellas en la Copa MX) desde que debutó en la Primera División en el Verano 2002, al mando del Atlante. El castigo más recurrente ha sido el de un juego y después el de dos; después dio el salto a cuatro y multa en aquel 2017, pero esta vez la situación podría ser peor, si su falta se le mide con el tema de ‘racismo y discriminación’, que sería la que más se acerca a la interpretación que le están dando la prensa y la afición.

Cabe mencionar que, con el tiempo, con su experiencia, Miguel Herrera ya no había recibido tantas rojas. En su primera etapa con Atlante, en un lapso de tres torneos, tuvo tres expulsiones en el Apertura 2003, dos en el Clausura 2003 y dos más en el Apertura 2002 y previamente (Verano 2002) una como auxiliar.

Dirigiendo a Monterrey tampoco pudo contener su ímpetu, ya que, de siete torneos, solo en uno no tuvo expulsiones (Apertura 2004). Dos veces recibió la roja en dos torneos.

La advertencia de la FIFA hacia México ha sido reiterativa, en cuanto al llamado ‘grito homofóbico’ que incluye el ‘pu…’. La primera multa económica para la FMF se dio por escucharse en el partido El Salvador vs México, el 13 de noviembre de 2015; de ahí a la fecha se cuentan 11.

El grito apareció en canchas mexicanas a principios de la década del 2000, pero se popularizó en el Preolímpico de 2004, cuando la Selección Mexicana buscaba el boleto a los Juegos Olímpicos de Atenas.
