VERACRUZ (cancha.com).- El Club Veracruz designó a Enrique López Zarza como su director técnico, con la consigna de terminar con la racha negativa de 34 partidos consecutivos sin conocer el triunfo en el futbol mexicano.

Los Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz no ganan desde el 25 de agosto del 2018.

«Si nos vamos a la parte de atrás es una losa muy grande, pero nosotros venimos a refrescar este proyecto y con la idea de poner nuestra experiencia y capacidad para tener un parteaguas desde este momento», dijo López Zarza tras su presentación.

«Todos podemos decir que es un reto, pero mas que un reto es una buena oportunidad», agregó.

López Zarza ocupará el lugar que dejó vacante Enrique Meza, quien renunció el 27 de agosto después de perder 5-0 como local ante Querétaro en la Fecha 7 del Apertura 2019.

De esta manera, López volverá a dirigir en Primera División después de 13 años cuando fue técnico de Necaxa en 2005 y 2006.

También estuvo al frente del León, además de varios clubes de la división de ascenso como Atlético Yucatán, Pumas Morelos, Ballenas Galeana, Celaya y Tepatitlán.

El debut de López Zarza como estratega jarocho será el 13 de septiembre cuando juegue como local ante Cruz Azul en la Jornada 9.
