El mensaje de la taekwondoín se ha difundido en momentos de máxima tensión entre EU e Irán tras episodios como la muerte del general iraní Qasem Soleimaní en una operación estadounidense y el ataque con misiles por parte de la Guardia Revolucionaria de Irán, en represalia, a una base militar en Irak con presencia de tropas estadounidenses.
La deportista, que no indica el lugar en el que se encuentra, afirma que ni ella ni sus compañeros son importantes para las autoridades de su país, ya que considera que se les trata como herramientas de un régimen que quiere explotar políticamente el éxito deportivo y que humilla a mujeres como ella.
Alizadeh niega haber huido por razones económicas o por una invitación desde Europa, mientras afirma que ha dado la espalda al poder y a la riqueza.
«Yo soy un ser humano y quiero permanecer en la órbita de la humanidad.

Tras asegurar que no quería progresar a base de corrupción y mentiras, ratifica su rechazo a la hipocresía, mentira e injusticia, lo que le lleva a aguantar el sufrimiento y la dificultad de la tierra extraña.
«Esta decisión -la de marcharse de su tierra- es aún más difícil que ganar el oro del olímpico», finaliza Alizadeh, quien reafirma su condición de iraní dondequiera que esté y expresa su confianza en el apoyo de sus seguidores.
